Special Symposium honouring Dr. Ken Storey
Dr. Kenneth B. Storey (1949–2025) was a pioneer in the field of comparative physiology who elucidated many of the mechanisms of metabolic rate depression (MRD) in states of hypometabolism (hibernation, anoxia, freezing). His research resulted in over 1,000 publications in this area with over 450 trainees from his lab.
Ken’s former mentees have organized a special symposium in Ken’s honour, which will take place the morning of Friday May 15th (see the program for more details), in the same building as the conference. This session will be a tribute to his life’s work and will focus on MRD in organisms that undergo this natural state. There will be no additional cost to attend the session.
This symposium is open to all conference attendees as well as members of the Carleton and UOttawa community who wish to join.
